Mr. Krantz, Director of Portfolio Management and Development Financing, brings a strong real estate and financial background to MedDevelopment. He has over a decade of experience in commercial real estate, specializing in loan surveillance, asset management, and underwriting across a wide range of property types.
Prior to joining MedDevelopment, Mr. Krantz spent five years with KeyBank Real Estate Capital’s Special Servicing team, a nationally recognized platform for managing distressed and underperforming CMBS assets. In that role, he conducted due diligence underwriting on more than $2 billion in new-issuance CMBS loans for institutional investors, analyzing complex deal structures and collateral profiles. He also managed a portfolio of specially serviced loans totaling approximately $250 million in unpaid principal balance, where he was responsible for workout strategy development, borrower negotiations, and asset resolution.
Since joining MedDevelopment in 2021, Mr. Krantz has overseen the operations of the firm’s healthcare real estate portfolio and led the structuring and execution of both development financing strategies and select medical office and healthcare-focused development projects. His extensive experience in CMBS underwriting and asset management—paired with specialized knowledge of risk mitigation and deal structuring—enables him to navigate complex transactions, deliver optimized capital solutions, and support MedDevelopment’s long-term investment strategy within the healthcare real estate sector.
Mr. Krantz earned both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Kansas, with a specialization in commercial law.
