Mr. Krantz brings a strong real estate and financial background to MedDevelopment. He has more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate, specializing in loan surveillance, asset management, and underwriting across a wide range of property types.

Prior to joining MedDevelopment, Alex spent five years on KeyBank Real Estate Capital’s Special Servicing team—a nationally recognized platform for managing distressed and underperforming CMBS assets. In that role, he conducted due diligence underwriting on more than $2 billion in new-issuance CMBS loans for institutional investors, analyzing complex deal structures and collateral profiles. He also managed a portfolio of specially serviced loans totaling approximately $250 million in unpaid principal balance, where he developed workout strategies, led borrower negotiations, and oversaw asset resolution.

Since joining MedDevelopment in 2021, Alex has overseen operations of the firm’s healthcare real estate portfolio while leading the structuring and execution of development financing strategies and select medical office and healthcare-focused projects. His deep experience in CMBS underwriting and asset management—combined with expertise in risk mitigation and deal structuring—enables him to navigate complex transactions, deliver optimized capital solutions, and support MedDevelopment’s long-term investment strategy in the healthcare real estate sector.

Alex earned both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Kansas with a specialization in commercial law.
