Karen Hogan joined MedDevelopment in 2025 following more than two decades with Turner Construction, where she advanced through a series of leadership roles including Engineer, Superintendent, Senior Project Manager, Preconstruction Manager, Vice President & General Manager of the Kansas City office, and ultimately Vice President/Construction Executive for the Upper Midwest region. Karen began her healthcare career in 2008 and has since delivered projects across the Midwest of various acuity and clinical services lines including acute-care renovations, emergency department expansions, patient room and clinic modernizations, imaging, interventional radiology suites, and ground-up cancer facilities. Her healthcare portfolio reflects deep experience in operationally sensitive environments, infection control and life safety compliance, phased construction planning, and coordination within active clinical settings.
Over her 22-year tenure at Turner, Karen also led complex mission-critical and large-scale capital programs, overseeing more than $2 billion of active development and supporting an additional $10 billion in preconstruction and startup efforts. This blend of hands-on field experience and executive leadership allows her to bring a true builder’s perspective to the owner’s side — balancing budget, schedule, functionality, and patient-driven outcomes. Known for her collaborative leadership style and ability to guide projects through complex technical and organizational conditions, Karen has built long-standing relationships across the Kansas City A/E/C and healthcare communities. Her expertise in early planning, preconstruction strategy, and construction execution makes her a trusted partner in advancing healthcare facilities from concept through completion.
Karen holds a B.S. in Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology and serves on the Chamber and Executive Board for the City of Olathe, Kansas.
